What a week!

Whee…sorry about not posting or doing anything towards the podcast this week guys. This week has been very tiring for myself since I am so far behind and I need to catch up on things (which is why I have this weekend! Yay!). Been so stressed this week that i’ve limited my work schedule so I can catch up and finish a lot of things that need to get done. I have a long list. I will try to record another podcast either tonight (Friday night) or tomorrow.

Interesting thing happened to me though. Wednesday, I chanted the Medicine Buddha mantra which you can find an excellent source of knowledge about the Medicine Buddha here:

http://www.dharma-haven.org/tibetan/medicine-buddha.htm

Anywho, I chanted the mantra of the Medicine Buddha that night. I slept maybe 6-7 hours. The next day I felt SO refreshed and the world and its multitude of colors seem to jump out at me. It was wonderful. I will certainly chant to the Medicine Buddha more when I start to feel stressed and down.

Looking forward for Oktoberfest celebrations tomorrow in the Richmond, Va!

 Love, TGB

Yeah, yeah, I know….

Sorry everyone for not updating the blog but its been busy at school and work so when I come home, I don’t really think about updating the blog, heh. Anywho, the podcast is going well and I will post TGB #5 sometime this afternoon once I get the shownotes all organized and what not. So, today (Sunday) is my third day as a vegetarian (again) and I am making a commitment as part of my spiritual and health life to make it a permanent feature. I feel better and have more energy when I eat all veggie food and so hopefully this will also make me lose more weight….hopefully :D . And i’m cutting back on my drinking alcohol so that will help a lot as well. Lots of changes in me future…

Anywho, just a quick post and i’m hoping I will make more in the future once I have more time. Today, i’m hoping I can get a whole lot of crap done (such as reading) so making myself a cup of coffee and getting down to the grinding stone…or something like that…toodles!

Holy fuck….its a miracle! Podcast #01!

Well, I am starting my own podcast about religion, politics, and my life and my journey. Its going to be called The Gay Buddhist and holy shit…lemme just tell you that it was HARD doing my first podcast trying to get everything right (because i’m a perfectionist -.-…note….need to work on that…). But, the first one is up and the second one will be recorded tonight or tomorrow and will be posted soon once I have enough material to fill up a 20-30 minute podcast. The second one will be a bit more organized as I learn more about podcasting and stuff…yeah, stuff…

Off to work…bleh…

Intro

Hey blog-o-sphere. I’m the gay Buddhist. I’m a 21 year old University student who is studying Political Science and International Relations with a minor in French and Religious Studies. This is a blog about my life, feelings, and my journey in this thing that we call life. I’ll try to post regularily about various topics, both religious and political. I’m will also post links to news topics and such.

I am also a contributor and author of Fat Track where John Ong of Ongline Podcast (www.onglinepodcast.com) and Andy Melton (http://andymelton.net) keep track of our weight loss, our thoughts on such, trials and tribulations, and what we eat. Some other podcasts that I enjoy are Madge Weinstein of Yeast Radio (www.yeastradio.com), Wanda Wisdom (www.luckybitchradio.com or www.wandawisdom.com), The Gay Expat (www.thegayexpat.com). Some of the Buddhist Podcasts I enjoy are Zencast (more from a Zen point of view, www.zencast.org), Buddhist Society of Western Australia (from a Theravada, Thai forest monk practice. Ajahn Brahm is very funny (at times) but always very inspirational), and Audio Dharma (a combination of many people within the Buddhist world who record sermons ready for you to listen to anytime). For politics, go visit Democracy Now! (www.democracynow.org) for fair reporting of the news (and its acutal news! Not infomercials!) As well, Politically Indirect from Air America Radio (www.airamerica.com) and if you’re a big leftist, like myself, you will enjoy the flat out honesty and rants of Max and Stacy from Karmabanque (www.karmabanque.com). So…pretty long for my first post

Oh, never….EVER! ship with UPS. They LOST MY SENSEO! THE FUCKERS!!! Can I say fuckers on here? I guess so…

Love and blessings to you all!

Mike
